The Commission contains a staff of recognized experts in natural resource protection and management, scientific research and environmental education.
The Albany Pine Bush Preserve Commission consists of the Commissioner of the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, the Commissioner of the NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, the Mayor of the City of Albany, the supervisors of the towns of Colonie and Guilderland, the Albany County Executive, the state director of The Nature Conservancy in New York and four private citizen members appointed by the Governor and approved by the Senate.
