Night at the Disco ... 11/5/18

We will host Night at the DC on Tues Nov 20, 2018, 4pm – 7pm. Visitors are invited to stop by the Discovery Center after normal business hours to play games, go on a moonlit walk and see the exhibits come to life.

APBP Seeks Help fr ... 10/3/18

We are looking for neighbors that live within half a mile of the preserve to help track changing weather patterns by measuring the depth of snow in their own backyard.

When is the DC open?

The Discovery Center is open Monday thru Friday, 9am–4pm and Saturday & Sunday and most holidays 10am–4pm. Admission is free. Find directions here.


Discover

The Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center is the gateway to the Albany Pine Bush Preserve, providing visitors with interactive exhibits and activities. The public is invited to explore the Preserve’s geologic and cultural significance, examine the plants and animals that live in this landscape, study Preserve management principles, and consider human impacts on this sensitive landscape.

 

Learn

The Discovery Center is a valuable tool for local schools and offers classroom spaces, curriculum based programming, a teacher resource center, and a gift shop with educational materials. Through hands-on experiences, staff and volunteers help visitors learn about the unique characteristics of the Pine Bush and nurture a sense of stewardship for the Preserve.
