The festival will be held May 18th at the Discovery Center. Parking is at 302 Washington Avenue Ext. with shuttle rides to and from the parking area. Follow the PARKING signs. On-site handicap parking available. No pets allowed at this event.

Partner organizations will post weekly clues to their Instagram and Facebook accounts. Participants will have until the following Thursday to adventure out and search for the answer to the clue on any one of 30-odd local preserves.

Room Rentals

The Discovery Center, a fully accessible facility, is ideal for training sessions, meetings, small conferences and business retreats.

The building features 1,484 square feet of meeting room space; three meeting rooms; a unique greeting area with 3,500 square feet of interactive nature center exhibits. Meeting rooms feature internet access, LCD projection systems, conference phones and white boards. Meetings can be video recorded for an additional fee.

The Discovery Center which is located in the heart of the 3,200 acre Albany Pine Bush Preserve and the Capital District, is within a few minutes of a variety of hotels, motels, shopping malls and restaurants.

There are several miles of marked, multiple-use trails located right out the back door of the Discovery Center. Most trails are considered easy to moderate and vary from wide open sandy trails to narrow, grassy woodland passages. The topography is generally flat with gradual slopes up and down the natural sand dunes.

Group tours of the Center and the Preserve are available. Special programs and presentations can also be pre-arranged for an additional fee. The gift shop is stocked with a diversity of unique items for your Pine Bush visit. Please stop in! The gift shop is open during Discovery Center hours.

General Policies for Facility Rentals

Deposits and payments — upon signing the rental agreement, you will be expected to provide a deposit equal to one-half of total estimated charges with the balance due on the day of the event. Deposit will be forfeited if a cancellation is within 24 hours of the event or failure to show.


Private/For Profit 4 hours $100; $25/hour for every additional hour

Not for Profit 4 hours $50; $15/hour for every additional hour

Temporary decorations — We are flexible about temporary decoration. Any signs, flowers, decorations, posters or the like may be temporarily displayed in the meeting rooms as long as they have been approved before your scheduled event.

Time to leave already? A 30-minute grace period is allowed beyond the planned ending time, in order for your guests to depart. Additional time beyond the 30 minutes may be charged.
