Event Description:

Spring is here and that means the birds are coming back from their winter in the tropics. We will meet at the Woodlawn Preserve trailhead on Gifford Road in Schenectady and walk approximately one and a half miles around the pond trail searching for spring migrants we see along the trails. Along the way, we will discuss some of the science research we conduct to help us monitor our feathered friends and how you can help! Please dress warmly. Binoculars will be provided. Ages 10+. Free!

Pre-registration is required for all events.

Please plan to arrive at least 5-10 minutes before the start of the program. Registration can also be made in advance of the program at the Discovery Center reception desk.

Note: Programs begin promptly at times listed. Please notify us if you need to cancel your registration so we can open your spot up to the waiting list.

While leashed pets are permitted on marked trails, we ask that visitors not bring pets to our educational programs.

CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds. It is, however, permissible to send or designate another person to use your program registration.

DIRECTIONS TO WOODLAWN PRESERVE FROM THE APB DISCOVERY CENTER: Go straight through the traffic light in front of the Discovery Center onto Old State Road. At the stop sign turn right onto Kings Road. Drive on Kings Road for 4.3 miles. Turn right onto McDonald Avenue and then right onto Gifford Road.
