Event Description:


Join us for our second annual Pine Bush Big Birding Day! Teams will register and bird together for 24 hours from 7:00pm Friday to 7:00pm Saturday, trying to observe as many bird species as possible. Each team will be self-guided and participants must provide their own transportation. We will kick off the event Friday evening at 6:00pm and then we’ll get back together for a closing ceremony on Saturday evening at 7:00pm. All ages are welcome to participate but all teams must have at least one member who can identify birds! Please be advised, this citizen science program is weather-dependent and may require last-minute rescheduling. Free!

Pre-registration is required for all events.

Please plan to arrive at least 5-10 minutes before the start of the program. Registration can also be made in advance of the program at the Discovery Center reception desk.

Note: Programs begin promptly at times listed. Please notify us if you need to cancel your registration so we can open your spot up to the waiting list.

While leashed pets are permitted on marked trails, we ask that visitors not bring pets to our educational programs.

CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds. It is, however, permissible to send or designate another person to use your program registration.

DIRECTIONS TO APB DISCOVERY CENTER: From I-87 take exit 2W (Rt 5 West, Central Avenue). Follow Rt 5 for about 2 miles then turn left onto Rt 155 (New Karner Rd). Continue on Rt 155 for about 1.2 miles. The Discovery Center is located on the left at 195 New Karner Road. (518)456-0655
