Event Description:

Suitable for ages 6–10, tweens, teens and adults

What lives in a pond? Join us for an exploration and observation of the many creatures that make their home in a pond. Pond sampling materials will be provided. Please wear long pants and appropriate footwear for mud and water. We will meet at the Woodlawn Preserve trailhead on Gifford Road in Schenectady and then walk approximately one mile stopping to sample from the pond. 

Reservations are required for all public programs.

Fee: Free! Reservations required for all attendees (regardless of age). Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Make reservations by calling 518-456-0655 or visit www.AlbanyPineBush.org/events

Please plan to arrive at least 5-10 minutes before the start of the program to check in.

Groups with 8 or more people, please call us for special accommodations.

Note: Programs begin promptly at times listed. If you make a reservation for a program and then decide you will not be able to attend please call us or cancel your reservation online to open up those spaces to others.

While leashed pets are permitted on marked trails, we ask that visitors not bring pets to our educational programs.

CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds for programs with fees. It is, however, permissible to send or designate another person to use your program reservation.

DIRECTIONS TO WOODLAWN PRESERVE FROM THE DISCOVERY CENTER: Go straight through the traffic light in front of the Discovery Center onto Old State Road. At the stop sign turn right onto Kings Road. Drive on Kings Road for 4.3 miles. Turn right onto McDonald Avenue and then right onto Gifford Road.
