Albany Pine Bush Preserve Bird Banding: Human visitors welcome for a limited time
Suitable for all ages.
Observe conservation science in action!
We’re opening one of our bird banding research stations to the public on July 3, 2019. Stop by for a unique opportunity to learn about this breeding season bird banding project, see wild birds up close and learn what the Albany Pine Bush Preserve’s birds can tell our scientists about the health of the globally-rare inland pine barrens.
Free! Reservations required for all attendees (regardless of age). Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
In an effort to ensure all visitors have a chance to observe, please plan to limit your time at the banding station to 20 minutes.
Meeting Location: Truax Trail Barrens Trailhead #12, Kings Road
At traffic light in front of the Discovery Center building (195 New Karner Road), continue straight through intersection, on Old State Road.
