Suitable for tweens, teens and adults

If the sandy paths of the Pine Bush could talk, the stories they might tell! Join us as we step back in time along the red trail of the Great Dune trailhead and explore the human history of this region of the Albany Pine Bush Preserve.  We will hike 1.8 miles along the red trail. This program meets at the Great Dune trailhead (#8).

Location: Great Dune Trailhead (#8)

Fee: Free! Reservations required for all attendees (regardless of age). Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Groups with 8 or more people, please call us for special accommodations.

Note: Programs begin promptly at times listed. Please notify us if you need to cancel your registration so we can open your spot up to the waiting list.

While leashed pets are permitted on marked trails, we ask that visitors not bring pets to our educational programs.

CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds. It is, however, permissible to send or designate another person to use your program registration.

DIRECTIONS FROM DISCOVERY CENTER TO GREAT DUNE TRAILHEAD (#8)

At the traffic light in front of the Discovery Center, continue straight through the intersection on to Old State road. Drive for 0.7 miles to a 3 way stop intersection. At the intersection continue straight on Old State Road for 2.2 miles to Siver Road. Take a left onto Siver Road and continue 1.1 miles on Siver road until the road “T’s” with Willow Street. Turn left onto Willow Street and proceed 0.8 miles to end at the Great Dune Trailhead.
