Lupine Fest 2019 5/2/19

The festival will be held May 18th at the Discovery Center. Parking is at 302 Washington Avenue Ext. with shuttle rides to and from the parking area. Follow the PARKING signs. On-site handicap parking available. No pets allowed at this event.

Truax Burial Groun ... 3/7/19

The history of the Truax family is preserved thanks to the years of effort by local historians, conservationists and government officials. Our search that spring day was for the gravestones of tavern keeper Isaac Truax and his family.

FRIENDS have year-round opportunities to participate in activities that contribute to stewardship and appreciation of the unique natural communities found in the Albany Pine Bush Preserve.

Friends of the Pine Bush Community, Inc. works cooperatively with the Albany Pine Bush Preserve Commission to further conservation and education within the Preserve – especially through organized activities and programs of the Albany  Pine Bush Discovery Center.

Your Dues Fund Many Projects & Activities:

  • The Friends of the Pine Bush Community are partnering with the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy to protect property for addition to the Albany Pine Bush Preserve. Your donation to the Land Protection Campaign will make this possible.
  • The Ticket to Ride school bus transportation project helps schools and community organizations travel to educational programs at the Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center
  • A Speakers Series develops public appreciation of the Albany Pine Bush thru presentations and events
  • Volunteers collect, archive and publish information about conservation, preservation, human and natural history of the Pine Bush
  • Grant writers help to enhance and expand Preserve habitat restoration and Discovery Center programs
