Ants of Inland Massachusetts Barrens
Barrens are rare and imperiled natural communities in the Northeast. In Massachusetts, active management is helping to restore and maintain these biodiverse habitats. This talk by Antioch University Graduate Student Kyle Bradford will give an overview of different barrens communities of inland MA and discuss the ant fauna, with special attention to rare species and those with fascinating natural history. Additionally, there will be a discussion of how management and environmental factors affect ant diversity and abundance in these barrens.
