Agents of Discovery at Night
Explore the night with the Agents of Discovery App!
Agents of Discovery is an augmented reality mobile game. It is free to download in the App Store and Google Play. Choose the “Albany Pine Bush Preserve” mission site and get in-game training on how to be a special agent.
Once you have downloaded the app and the mission, you no longer need Wi-Fi or data to play. You can find our missions by searching for the mission title.
Your Night Mission
After you install the Agents of Discovery app on your device search for the mission called "The Albany Pine Bush at Night".
Get ready to hike! Dress appropriately and bring drinking water.
Wear appropriate shoes. The on-site mission takes you on a mile-long hike over rolling sand dunes.
Dress for tick safety. We recommend light colored clothing, tall socks that you can tuck your pantlegs into, and long-sleeved shirts that can be tucked into pants. You may also consider insect repellants. Staying on clearly marked and maintained trails will reduce your risk of exposure to ticks.
Dress for the sun. Most of the preserve is open and sunny. It is a good idea to bring plenty of drinking water and wear sunscreen and sun-protective clothing like hats and sunglasses.
Before you play, you'll need to download the app and the mission.
Downloading the app and the Albany Pine Bush missions both require data. If you have a limited data plan, it is best to download them where you will have access to Wi-Fi.
Once the app and mission have been downloaded, you do not need data to play.
Sound on
Make sure the sound on your device is ON to hear the sound effects in the missions!
Charge your device.
It would be a bummer to get half way through the game just to have your mobile device run out of juice. Make sure your device’s battery is fully charged before you start.
