Discover the Pine Bush Ramble Hike

Our experts will guide you along this 0.9-mile hike over rolling sand dunes where you will discover Pine Bush natural history and seasonal surprises and transformations. This program is offered in collaboration with the Hudson River Valley Ramble and is suitable for ages 6-10, tweens, teens and adults.

Enjoy the Pine Bush under a full moon. We will meet at the Blueberry Hill West trailhead (#5). Suitable for tweens, teens and adults.

Join us for a mid-day foray into the Albany Pine Bush in search of mushrooms. Mr Steve Rock, advanced amateur mycologist and lifetime member of the North American Mycological Association will guide us as we search for mushrooms in the Hunger Kill Barrens (trailhead # 10). This program is suitable for tweens, teens and adults.

Award winning local artist Kevin Kuhne will lead a plein air watercolor session where participants can capture their own perspectives of the Pine Bush in season. Hosted by Friends of the Pine Bush Community.

Community Science: Snowpack Monitoring Volunteer Training

Volunteers who live within a half mile of the preserve are invited to learn how your efforts monitoring snowpack around the preserve can help us understand wildlife population dynamics.

Come and join us for a 2.6 mile hike while we take in the beautiful scenery of this rare ecosystem. This program is suitable for ages 6+

Fall is here, bringing us the colorful sights that we love. Join us for a session of nature journaling on trail! This will include a 0.9 mile walk with stops along the trail, learning and utilizing various ways to nature journal using our senses. All experience levels welcome, bringing your own supplies is optional. Suitable for tweens, teens and adults.

Science Lecture Series: Place of Pitch Pines

For countless generations, local Native people relied on the once extensive inland pine barrens known today as the Pine Bush for food, medicines, and other purposes. Join us for a presentation at the Albany Pine Bush Preserve to imagine what this nearly-vanished world was like five centuries ago. This program will be offered in a hybrid format. Participants can join either in person or remotely. Suitable for adults.
